"The bicycle is just as good company as most husbands and, when it gets old and shabby, a woman can dispose of it and get a new one without shocking the entire community. ~Ann Strong

Cycling Reindeer

The ever receding glory days of rugby and competitive softball continue to prove that "the older I get, the better I was," so I revel in my return to cycling. I may be a card-carrying member of the Old Guys Who Get Fat During Winter bicycle club, but I can still dust the best of them on a downhill!

Charity Bike Tours

Great rides for great reasons

One of the things that got me back into riding was an invitation to ride with friends in the MS150. Training for that was all the excuse I needed to buy a new bike, and that new bike was all I needed to remember why I loved it.

I currently participate in three different annual charity rides, linked below. It's a great way to do what you love, with hundreds of others, and get the warm fuzzies of knowing that your pedaling helps fund the work of others in the effort to cure disease. To find more charity rides, local rides, and all-around cool rides, check the Maine Club Rides calendar.
